I think it warrants a bit more regulation than aspirin and coffee.

Internet has been down.

Fruitbat, Tabitha is doing well. Her eating has varied, she threw up on the day I skipper her morning dose of oil. She had just done some major eating too, so she was quite sick. We are back to no puke and loose poo and good appetite. I would say for sure she is putting on weight. I am very happy with her progress though the blood in her stool is disturbing.

I may add something about the recent discussions about cannabis, I am tired and need to read a little more before bed.

Vaporizing will give you the beneficial medicinal value without the hydrocarbons that are still harmful. For your pain I suggest taking 1 Tblsp Apple Cider Vinegar (organic and unfiltered) once a day. And also use food grade hydrogen peroxide which will also help by boosting the immune system to kill pathogens that often are the cause of joint or muscular pains.

Hemp uses vary and in many cases the use has little THC or 'psychoactive' effects at all. Hemp protein can be found in health food stores for people who have issues with the whey protein isolates.

Edibles are also a good method for introduction of potent cannabinoids into the body without the adverse effects of hydrocarbons. There are also topical applications for healing skin lesions including melanoma.

From: http://michiganmedicalmarijuana.org/top ... in-cancer/

"Whether it’s melanoma, dyplastic nevi, or any other form of skin cancer, the fact remains that over 2 million Americans are diagnosed with one or more types of skin cancer each year. Skin cancer also often coincides with such cancers as breast, prostate, colon and lung. Additionally, statistics show that 1 out of every 5 Americans will develop skin cancer at some point in their life and one person in the United States dies every hour from melanoma.

With these facts, we should also take into account the benefits that hemp oil has been proven to have. Hemp oil, which is widely regarded as a “super food,” contains omega 3, omega 6 and gamma linoleic acid. This concentration of gamma linoleic acid (GLA) is 5% higher than any other plant known to man. GLA is known to help with a wide variety of disorders, ailments and diseases, including breast and skin cancer. GLA helps promote healthy cell growth, thereby neutralizing cancer cells. Mankind has also known about the healing properties of hemp for thousands and thousands of years, with some of the first being Native Americans and Asian natives.

Tabitha threw up again this morning, last evening I did not give her oil directly, I put it in her food. She is still eating healthy, in fact I am thinking maybe her appetite is overtaking her digestive system. She has kidney disease and is drinking alot of water, her insides must be in turmoil.

So obviously the problems still remain as I expected but who knows, she certainly is moving in the right direction. Pretty is doing ok as far as I can tell, I am putting a few drops in her food hoping she is getting a benefit.

I myself can still feel something going on around my left kidney. I know I mentioned my hernia patch, hopefully it is not this but is the only inorganic something that might be in there that I can think of. Then again the sonogram was apparently negative so I do not know what to think. I am still gardening and mowing the lawn and of course working, I feel real good otherwise.

Before I spend money on a urologist consultation, I want to buy oil for others. I am hoping to do it something this coming week. Anyone decide to pick some up and give it a go?

The poor girl, she just got sick again. I am thinking maybe I am doing her a dis-service not following up with the vet. Hell, I just urinated blood again, it seem tied to physical exertion, perhaps I am paying for yesterdays 5hr rock harvesting from the garden. Was taking it easy on the lawn today, not feeling particularly awful however I can certainly feel my left side telling me something is wrong. Off to work.

Then again, that surely was on Parolaro's mind and, from what she says ... it appears it plays no meaninful part regarding CBD, which by itself seems to be enough even if, as you say, "most people" may prefer the whole plant.

I'm looking, attentively, into this.

FWIW,

I emailed Prof. Parolaro, and asked her advice sprecificaly about breast cancer and CBD.
She answered. Amidst other considerations, she said "the commercial product Sativex can help you but I do not know if it is authorizef for breast cancer."

Out of that, I take out - Sativex can help me.

So, I will be looking out for it.
Hope some of you find this information useful.

Many thanks for the "heads-up" about the "oil", Soloman.

As to the, so to speak, "pot argument", I for one wish we could leave it out of this, so I will say no more .

Soloma, perhaps both might be in order. Sometimes regular medicine could use a boost such as your doing.

Back about 25 years ago, we had a cat that was found in the street and someone brought him into the vet while we were there, he was about 6 weeks old. He was sickly, had ulcer's on his corneas and was just plain sick. For the next several months, we continued to take him to vet. Always it was more pills, more antibiotics but never any improvement. I finally said to the vet, a very good one, how about we stop all the medicines and just give him vitamins and let his body sort it out. Perhaps he is over medicated. Punkin' lived from 1987 until 2001. He couldn't see very well for he could only see peripherally but he was a good friend...and bad...<g>

Don't discount a vet. Maybe you should be doing both. Not my call, only my opinion.

I hope the best.

Luis, I really hope that works for you and your parents. I myself find it very hard to trust the large pharmaceutical companies, they have gotten it wrong so many times with no indication that they care for nothing other than their bottom line.

GW takes its high quality cannabis, chops it up and makes a tincture by heating it under pressure with CO2 and then adding ethanol to precipitate an oil. Then, with the addition of a little peppermint oil to mask the taste and some preservative, the filtered liquid is packaged into tiny little aerosol bottles. Each spray delivers 2.7mg of THC and 2.5mg of CBD. What GW doesn’t tell you that it also contains all the other 100+ cannabinoids found in the plant, each of which has its own mechanism of action and effect. It also contains flavonoids, terpines and other compounds. Everything that is found in the plant

http://www.clear-uk.org/the-truth-about-sativex/

The above quote is different from other information I am seeing, Sativex actually refines out other cannabinoids. It also appears to have more THC (which is really a good thing unless people do not want the "high") than the hemp oil as well as wonderful preservatives! I am not sure I understand the extra processes just to make a tincture, all you need is the right kind of alcohol, a glass jar with a proper lid and time. Why co2 and preservatives are involved is beyond me.

Personally, Id throw all the big pharma companies out, they are part of the overall larger problems we are facing after all. However I do truly hope if you pursue the GW pharma Sativex, that it works well for you.

Tabitha is hitting a rough patch, she is getting sick again often. Not sure what to do at this point for her, when she is not getting sick, she does not seem to be in discomfort however her behavior has changed a bit. Prior to the oil, she was all about going outside, eating grass and taking off. Today she was in the sun for a few minutes then headed back inside. Just do not know what to make of this roller coaster ride right now.

I guess I am sort of committed to the oil for now, perhaps she will start to keep the food down again. Of course her stool does not look good either. Going to let this play out a bit more and she how she is responding.

Thanks for the good response Mikado, I am not counting out the vet right now, just trying an alternative to the medications she was going to suggest to get her to eat and stop throwing up. There is also the underlying hope that somewhere inside her the hemp oil will interact with the cause of the kidney disease.

I just searched hemp oil and kidney disease and found this claim, whether true or not or relevant to Tabitha`s condition, I am not sure. I can only observe how this is helping her and it certainly has.

There are several causes of kidney malfunction. They are primarily categorized into Acute Kidney Injury or acute renal failure (ARF) and Chronic Kidney Diseases (CKD).

Acute renal failure can occur as a result of a traumatic injury, severe infections, prostate enlargement or poisoning from certain drugs. Another likely cause is pregnancy complications such as eclampsia and pre-eclampsia.

On the other hand, chronic kidney diseases are caused by immune system conditions like lupus,HIV/AIDS, hepatitis B and hepatitis C.
How is hemp of use in these conditions?

Hemp oil kidney disease treatment is especially effective with chronic kidney diseases. Many studies and trials have shown that marijuana is effective in reducing the effects and symptoms of HIV, Hepatitis B and prostate cancer. Even where it does not heal, marijuana and its derivatives help in killing the pain that accompanies some of these conditions.

HIV, Hepatitis B and prostate cancer are, as indicated above, major contributors to kidney diseases. Therefore, when they respond to hemp oil treatment, kidney failure is prevented.

Another way that hemp oil treatment protects patients from kidney failure is by giving them an option beyond the chemical medicines used as painkillers and treatment of other conditions. Chemical consumption in whatever form is harmful to the kidneys. Unfortunately, drugs are one major way harmful chemicals get into the bloodstream, putting kidneys under much pressure.

For instance,NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) that are commonly used to treat pain and inflammation contain a high amount of substances that are toxic to the kidneys. Even when the toxins are in low amounts, there is always the risk of overdose.

Marijuana, on the other hand, has few side effects on the organs with equal – or even increased – effectiveness. Moreover, there is no risk of marijuana overdose harming the organs.

In summary, hemp oil kidney disease treatment works on two fronts: curing the underlying causes of kidney failure like HIV and saving the kidney from damaging blood cleansing after pharmaceutical treatment.
