Yes there is a reason, that there are wider cultural and political consequences to 'outlandish' and 'dictatorial' ideas to solve problems. It is about true lateral thinking and due diligence. Consider the practicalities and what kind of regimes we would be living under if such extreme ideas were actually enacted. Persuade Yes, force NO. It is down to the age old question:

'Can man govern himself?'

As much as some of the offering temp one to answer that question as No, but I value freedom above that socialist Cr^^. If he really thinks this, he will get the chance to persuade the electorate next year when he stands for election as FB indicated he wanted to do, but I guess that was all talk and no action as normal, I can at least say I have, and may be minded to stand again against FB, once he tells us which constituency he plans on standing in.

Apparently, someone is talking about rationing electricity that is in a position to attempt to do so. Is it safe to assume that you are referring to either the US or the UK?

Speaking of electricity and issues, look at our own President and the failed Solyndra. From a practical point of view, Solar is only good when the Sun is shining...duh. Until a good and reliable means of storage is developed it is only good in certain applications. I have seen individuals in my area who have gone to great expense to put solar panes on their roofs on the south facing side. This may be good for the conversion during daylight hours but what about night? What about night in the winter when there is normally the greatest amount of energy usage? Like the one person I talked with who did what I described, well, in his words, "we are still tied into the power company for back up."

So, are they really off he grid or just reducing the amount they use? The energy produced during the day is repurchased by the power company which does offset his bill but what about cloudy days? The result of his VERY expensive installation has not netted him any profit back from the utility, his power consumption on hot days when he runs his A/C he is still pulling a good amount of power so in the long run, his 17 cent per KW/hr prior to the installation has been increased to over 30 cents per over the next 25 years....but remember...he did his part for the carbon imprint.

Just my two cents...ah hell...make it 17 for a Kw/hr

I would caution restraint talking about ELECTRICITY too much, there may be eves droppers that it brings out in a rash.
Tesla could have relayed electricity without all of the stinking overhead cables.

I have been a member of Avalon for a while. Linda joined. I said hello, and when something about access was unclear, I reminded her that access increases after a certain number of posts. I helped an elderly woman figure out the gas pumps at Costco last year. I bought ten dollars worth of gas for a gentleman who rolled up to the pump on momentum and no wallet. Courtesy is alive and well in my world.

Do you have any specific evidence of FB's involvement? One must be careful not to ascribe this as a premeditated by FB. The tensions between Kevin and FB was there, and I can say that when this first arose, way before 'Myles', and Linda did not appear to care about either one, and seemed if anything happy at the unresolved resentments by both.

It was a deduction based upon the preponderance of the evidence. Kevin had stated somewhere in all the posts he made that fruitbat was "pushing" for his censorship/removal. Since kevin was able to make a statement as such is indicative that a conversation had to have been had and most probably with Linda. The only person fruitbat could pressure would be Linda or the actual owner of the site. I further base this upon history. From 2006 to 2014, eight years, Linda has no problem with kevin. She even coins the name "navigator" via her sock puppet twigsanpper. Her demeanor toward kevin noticeably changed upon fruitbat becoming an admin.

If any of this incorrect, fruitbat can come here and state the truth or provide any correction to what I have mentioned which is not really that much other than being an admin and making a case to Linda to do "something" about kevin.

Leaving aside the admin appointment, I guess I can at least confirm that there had been some PM traffic along those lines, BUT Linda did not do anything constructive to either address FB's concerns or use the PM system to have a friendly word with Kevin. I deduced that whatever FB / Kevin's concerns were they were ignored and I do tend to agree that Myles was probably a non deplume, but even that is not as relevant as Myles posted as Linda Brown, If it was posted under that name it is that name. I suggest we say it as it is, Linda Brown was the poster.

Kim was reading over at the Token. She read me something Linda had written in regard to Myles. She claimed that Myles was her "attorney" who had come to stay at her house while she was away.....Really?....I mean seriously.......does she really believe that people are that gullible?.........she really must believe that no one has any intelligence other than her and that they hinge on every word she says as if gospel.

From what I remember of the incident, the shear number of posts being made through out the day was very indicative that her "lawyer" must not have a practice. I remember when Myles would copy from here and post. I was able to see when the post was copied and what IP did so. So to give Linda some credit as to telling the truth, she did not argue the fact over the IP but she sure came up with a doosey of an excuse....er...lie....fabrication.

Anyway, all that to say that Myles is NOT Linda's attorney and unless she truly has a Yorkie that can type, the evidence suggests it was her.
