I was window shopping and have come across two robots that are on sale and very tempted to invest in them. But is the technology reliable?
It is an important matter when considering these things. It seems that question is one to never forget when thinking about practical uses of new tech.

Invest in robots? Do you mean to invest in them for a resale at a future date or to purchase them to do work?

Will when they are ready to be let loose. They are in training and being fed at the moment.

If they are Roombas, you'll love them!
Mine are 760's and have been very dependable with little maintenance for two and four years.

Yep it is a Roombas, well 'Dustie' is. The other one is a Braava a mop. Seem well designed and constructed.
