The Random Q. or thought

Postby KarenAnn23 » Sun Jan 24, 2010 8:34 am

I have a Q. and or statement that doesn't quite fit any where in the Science class...So, I thought other may also, and if so, I would encourage anyone to use this thread to air thought and such..

Okay, so I'm watching this scence show this Am. They say we can never travel in a craft faster than the speed of light.
You can't they say because gravity and mass would crush any vehicle at x point.

you may be able to use a worm hole, I'm not ready for this and is not my point.

This is a personal guess and only my thoughts...

So, TTb does his majic and develops some teck. to make time travel work...have I gotten this correct so far??

P.S. I do realize 1 I may be completely wrong, and 2 he did other wonderful things, just pondering right now..anyone have anything to say about this ideal??

This statement storie has nothing to do with anyone one on here or anything being said..However, I am constinley remeinded of a teacher of mine..I didn't learn anything about english (1 of the classes of his I took,) but I learned something much more valuible (worthwhile) I learned how to learn...(just to get this in here, I never found a person who knew him that had a middle ground, either they hated him or Loved him )

Their was a teacher in my high school, even people who didn't go to our school have heard of him.. He was very old school and strick..for instance..you had to write everything in cursive, use a foutain pen (no room for mistakes, rewrite it Miss Baaarrrishhhh) that's how he said my name correctly I may add...sit striaght in your chair hands folded in front of you, feet planted firmly on the ground, if you sneezed 2 times of started coughting you had to go into his office, don't ask, just get up from your desk and go..wash your hands before returning...

Anyway, you couldn't take one of his classes your first year, and only the best students got into his class..I thought I'd stay away from him as I could..my friends had another ideal and made a bet I couldn't befriend him...so, I tried to learn as much about him as I could, turns out My Mom's 1st year in High school was also his..My Mom's Mom died while she was still in school and when she came back ( to his class) she found a dozen roses and a sympathy note...When one of our classmates, he only had her in homeroom, died tragically in a fire..he bought a rose for each student in homeroom in rememberence.

I went to school earlie one morning (as I usually did) and went to his room for the 1st time...just as I was going to knock he said to come in, I asked if he had an extra moment as I wanted to talk to him, his reply was he would always make a moment for a student in need..I guess that's what he thought... I intrduced myself to him and went to shake his hand, he took my hand in a gesture, and like he was going to kiss it ..he even made a kiss sound about 5 inches from my hand ( this was a formal greeting ) he said that all women should be greeted by males in this way, however rules change and he couldn't accually kiss my hand..( David W. Shanner ,was gay I found out later, he was making no pass)

I told him about my Mother and thanked him and also told him that after all these years that jester still means a lot to her..he even remembered her maiden name..Wow, well to cut this short, I took 2 of his classes, let me tell you I had to fight to even get into them...the 1st class I almost didn't pass, then I took a compossion class of his got stright A's...Not because of my english but because of a way he designed for me to correct my mistakes..

Anyway, I felt the need to tell this storie...You could have felled me with a feather the day he told me to call him David when no one was around..but he tought me how to get information I didn't know..how to learn..

Rest in peace, my forever friend David W. Shanner.

Oh I ment to mention, I was never a trouble maker, my teachers loved me (wanted me to try harder but liked me, i was very respectfull to them all)

But, as with my 8th grade science teacher, where I would Q. some things and get sent to office..My guidence counceler had something against me..when I asked to be put in a Shanner class, she actually said I wasn't smart enough to pass his class..I flew off the handle and cussed at her, promtly getting sent to the Vice Princlepals offfice ( Vince , liked me ) I got away with it because of what she said to me 1st...

Karen: The mainstream physics viewpoint since Einstein has been that

1) Lightspeed in vacuum (C) is an 'absolute' speed (determined from Maxwell's equations for electromagnetism) so it is the same for every observer

2) You can't accelerate anything that has mass to C (it would take infinite energy) let alone beyond

3) As the relative speed between any two objects approaches C their relative time slows down (but does not 'go backward')

4) All this is 'special' (non-accelerated) relativity - 'general' relativity adds that gravity and motion curve spacetime, so that *very* fast moving objects in very high gravity fields might be able to 'warp space' and allow for true backwards time travel. But it's generally thought that you need the mass/energy of a star (or a black hole) to do this, so you could not get any time travel effects from anything electrical that we could see in the lab. And even some of the black hole people disagree on whether the 'time travel' seen in the equations would actually work in real life.

That's the mainstream view, as I said. But Townsend Brown seemed to hold to decidedly non-mainstream views of physics, which I still don't understand, so... if he thought time travel was possible with the energy budget we have on Earth, his thoughts *may* have agreed with Einstein's ideas but they certainly do NOT agree with current thinking on what Einstein's ideas imply in terms of energy requirements.

It's possible that either Einstein was wrong (he certainly knew his theories were incomplete) or that the post-Einstein relativists have gone wrong somewhere in what they've built on his ideas. In either case, it's not something the physics establishment will accept without a lot of proof.

There's one current physicist who believes it's possible to build a time machine - Ronald Mallet - ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronald_Mallett ) using lasers, but he's not generally believed.

However if the Townsend Brown 'fan' and 'speaker' can be demonstrated to literally bend space as Townsend Brown seemed to think (again, mainstream scientists do NOT believe this), then it would be strong proof that something IS wrong in either Einstein or the current understanding of Einstein.

I see, I wasn't thinking of speed when I mentioned T.T.B. I was thinking of something I have no knowledge of therefore couldn't write what I mean, I thought he had managed a way to do things that envoled other (ingredence) there a word I can get close to spelling..

What do you think Linda?
Did the fan actually bend space?
Or did it "stress the dielectric medium"?

Trick Fox,

Okay, that's the basic Q. isn't it..thank you for putting it in words that make since..read my mind on that one..of couse no one has to answer what is either unanswerible or not time yet..I was wondering aloud I guess.

Someone made a simple explaination to me about water...However, the concept of what he said has been niggling at me for a week now...I was hoping someone might read this and be reminded of something to do with this whole board, (or rather a concept, that I can't pin down).

I have alway thought different then most people I know this..I've asked enough and listened to enough people to know I think slightly different, but usually come up with the correct answer eventually, I tell you this because I want you to understand that this could have to do with anything..I just can't get it yet.

Let me 1st tell you, One simple thing I think about and always have..( Yes, I also think of more challenging things, but this will give you a easy example) Okay, I have always wondered..I see the grass green, and the sky blue..but if I could look threw your eyes would I still see the same colors?? I have always been told that's blue, so How would I know if you see purple?

Here is the thing, my cousins are putting up new siding on our house, outside my room is a flat roof, (where we added a full room ) now it only leaks water in the winter..never in any storm in the summer..it leaks downstairs.. Now, my cousin Matt knocks on my window and said, I found one of the leaks it right here by my wall.. (he fixed it.) I said that's odd, it never leaked in my room..

Matt says to me, Water is indiscrimint, it will find it's way where ever it wants..now this simple statement remind me of some concept we have talked about.. Mayby, I didn't say anything, I can even know what or where it would be on this whole board.. however, I feel I'm missing something important..

Can anyone think of what this reminds them of???

Mr.Mikado,

Thank you, that thought has recently come in to my mind..do you care to explain more?? If not , I will understand.
