Impressive, Cat … really.
http://www.wildanimalsanctuary.org/abou ... grams.html

I am an “animal lover”, not just of my dog. Cruelty and abuse done to animals by us is simple abhorrent, repellent stuff. And I’ve passed that onto my daughter. By refusing to go with her to a normal, plain vanilla Circus when she was very little. My brave wife went instead.
Explained why I would not go, best I could, to a then 6 year old child.

She kept on loving Circuses, as any kid does, and going to them, never with her father, but seeing her friends dad’s there. She would pout then, and get angry at me.

Until one day, she was 12, she told me “I didn’t like to see the poor horses trot around with monkeys on their backs, and even less the lions getting whipped to sit on tiny stools and jump high on air … I think I understand now what you meant, and I don’t ever want to go to a circus again”.

Hard, patient lessons. By uncompromising teachers.
Only way to do it.

That small wound in my heart then healed, hearing those words and feeling the touch of her little hand on mine, a leap of intellect achieved, a level of Humanity breached, and a distance shortened between us.

Next year, I and my wife took her to Tanzania.

And there, we showed her a bit of the true Circus of Life.

She cried, amazed by its beauty.
I cried, amazed by her perception of it.

Of course, I’m privileged to have been able to do that. Not everyone can. And I let her know it. Exactly.

And that is why in the two years afterwards, she spent her 2 summer vacations doing community service. First one, helping in the local public hospital doing hard cleaning work, mostly. Next one, I let her choose.

She chose the public kennel.

Ever since, two years now, she has done – voluntarily – community work. For just a month, not the whole summer vacations, that is.

But I feel my “investment” has paid off. Some of the best money I ever spent, actually. If it is hard to earn, it is a lot harder to save money. So you have to spend it with respect, not with stupidities.

So, yes, a regular Joe has the power to do little miracles, if only he believes in them. I know it.

That said,

I also know you “value” your dreams. No idle stuff with you.
And you didn’t answer.

How did you know it was me ?

This is no idle question, either.

The best explanation I can offer is that it "felt" like you. There are some things that I just know.

Thank You Luis for that little insight into your life and for that peak into some of your fiber.

So now, at the very least, we can conclude that Luis is a banker, with a wife and daughter. A daughter he has instilled an understanding of what it is to earn and respect money. That Luis is a patient man and has imparted that patience to his daughter. Has given her the love of animals and nature along with a respect for them, the flora and the fauna.

....and does wear dark gray suits....sometimes pin strips too.

Mikado

...almost forgot...doesn't like plain vanilla circuses....one more thing...Loves his daughter very much for teaching, hard lessons, is love.

Yuk... none of that for me.. Since I have had food poisoning twice from seafood i'm really selective about what seafood I eat (except shellfish.. yum..).

Give me a big fat hoofer anytime.. and Yea, I can cook too.. probably in any five star restaurant (my hobby with a passion).

And, so LuisP, the thought popped into my head to ask you why you are here?

P.S. The question is not asked in a mean spirited way.

I would think it to be obvious, Traveler !
- I don’t know why I’m here.

Not “here” as in this site but “here” as in this mess . I was a pretty normal guy till less than a year ago … and now am no more. I used to know everything and what to do and don’t do, and now I don’t. Know a thing or what to do.

There’s your answer. Truthful, as all given should be.
Because there’s always the option of not answering, or of answering without an answer.

That said,
I don’t know if you ask it out of “sawing ham”, as we say around here, meaning, with no serious intent or practical purpose other than just to make “conversation” or play around.

You being a “person of principal”, and me having given you that trust, I will presume “ham sawing” not to be underlying and, as such, will address it further.
Take it, again, as you will.

A man (woman) can be best known – and better educated – by what he/she will not do and abstain of, rather than by what they will choose to act, and engage in.
That is - a part - of the reason why, for instance, I took such heart at the way you showed up. Your previous and self confessed abstaining was, to me, much louder than your present acting.

So,
1 - Just look at what I … do not do. That’ll give you a negative answer. Meaning, what I am not here for. Which, as above stated – and you agreeing with it or not, is my way of seeing things and explaining them - is more important than what I am here for.
2 - Then look at what I do. That’ll give you a positive answer. Meaning, what I chose to engage in, despite everything else.

By now, you will have at your disposal the two halves of any answer. Truthful one, that is. Because lies are always just one sided. And as such, damn obvious. For a Liar will always provide just one side of those halves, the other being irrelevant.

In more clear words (not that I think you have deficient capabilities of understanding, but just to, yes, use more clear words for, in fact, I may have been a bit obtuse for I am sharing a deep, hard learned lesson and that doesn’t come easy) a Liar will always show you a side of a question and hide the other, where the truth resides.

How ? Well, here goes, the Lesson :
- By playing every side of a question, issue, group of people, whatever. A Liar doesn’t make Choices and take Sides, for these show “colors” and compromise future escape routes or alternative partnerships. A Liar is a “slick”, and as such, always right, meaning, with the prevalent mood, trend, or just simply with the strongest … question, issue or group of people.

It is a well known fact – because I made no secret of it right at my “beginning”, so as to (naively) try to pacify suspicions of three letter employers or simply a “front runner” on other’s behalf, these being in vogue with some of the premises’ dwellers – that I’m a banker. So, trust me on the above written. It makes part of I am paid to do. And I am paid adequately enough.

All this to say that your Question has available most of its Answer’s requisites.

Then thrown on top of the above descript exercise, My Answer : “I don’t know why I’m here”.
Is it the truth ?

Up to you to answer that.

Now, if you want to do some legwork as a means to meat up this explanation – as you should, if your interest in my presence here is, as I think it is, genuine – I would advise you to check CT’s site, its “Speculations” forum and inside it, the “The Hutchison Consortium Discussions” thread. And its page 17. That’s when I showed up. For the first time - ever - on any a site.

It is all explained there.
Then there’s some around 400 pages more, if you feel like it, where I talked myself dry.

So, a last question remains – and I’ll do it for you.

“Why have you then left and come here ?”

That is a simple one to answer, Thank God !
- Because there I came to realize I would not be allowed to get anywhere. And here I may.

Why ?
Do some more legwork. Check this site’s “The Open Door” forum, in it the subforum “The Round Table” and its “LuisP's Questions” thread.
It is all explained there.

That’s it. And that’s plenty.

Feel free, Traveler, to tell me if you require any more explanations about why I am here.

Just do some homework first, all I ask. So as to save us both time.
If you need a spoon, I just gave it to you.
Plenty of food out there.

PS : I know it wasn’t. That is why I answered it. But you need to get up, and move. Not to expect things to come to you.
PPS : common seafood is harmless. Except – precisely – shellfish. Just a rotten or infected one can give you a severe diarrhea, not to mention a 3 day gastroenteritis or a near fatal poisoning.
Dish the shellfish – any kind of it - and eat the other seafood.
Been doing it since ever, for seafood is a part of our diet here. And never a bad trip down that lane, on this rule.
PPPS : wanna post something ? The “any 5 five star restaurant” cooking ability claim piked my curiosity ! We can meet at the “Time-Out” thread, if you wish, so as to (ahem) have some privacy. Just don’t come up with any “Fusion” or “Nouvelle Cuisine” stuff. Buncha overrated fraudsters ! Honest food, please !!

I'll answer a question that hasn't been asked. At least not publically, that I'm aware of. Why am I here, and on Linda's forums and on the Pegasus forum? Answer: because I'm supposed to be. It's right up there with "I don't know." I'm on the EUTM forum because I'm a pagan. It's a good place for alternatives to hang out.

Hey LuisP

You actually answered my question with the very first words out of your mouth. The rest was insightful, but probably not necessary. Most often the first actions, be it body language or verbal tell more of a tale than most people realize. With that said, trust is something that is coveted, but in this case I would suggest a slight modification that says "trust but verify".

If you have spent any time reading the past forums here, you will see that we have had many characters interact with us, and for the most part what they contributed was worthless junk.. at beat. You are posting interesting information, and that was all that can be asked of anyone on this site.

Thanks for your contributions!

Traveler

P.S. back. If you were to ask me why I am involved here, I would have to confess that my answer would be about the same as yours. Interesting is it not?

Oh yea, almost forgot the food.. * gasp *.

I am a simple old fashion cook that can make something from anything. The passion and love for cooking, and the pleasure I get from fixing something that the people I value will enjoy drives every dish that I prepare. So, what I prepare is generally traditional and follows whatever culture; be it Spain (which is a beautiful country), England, France or the good old US, it is derived from.

After all, at heart I am a simple man, so to me the disk just needs to be simple and tasty, and put a smile on the face of whomever I prepare it for. So, guess you will have to just come by the house and try it out some day.

Yum....
