Have you noticed any birds...in the "zone"?

Nancy,
When both trees had their health (it was never very good, though) grass was fine. When they started dying, grass kept fine. During a storm one quit the struggle and died, and grass went on keeping fine.
I put Lakhovsky's ring around the survivor. Crude stuff, just following extremely basic instructions on how to.
Tree came back from comatose state.
But grass close and around it is suffering.
These are the facts.
Why ?
Beats me.
I'm just calling it as I see it, and pics prove.
And birds ?
Strange you mention that ... yes, birds do fly and have flown a lot there, in my property. It is in the middle of nowhere, hilly country full of trees.
But,
Would you believe a little Orange breasted sparrow made residence around the place, and follows me and the wife around when we walk ? I sit under my porch and a few minutes later, there he is, close by, on a branch looking at me ?
Last weekend, it even got into the house.
I tried gently to push him out through the very open doors and windows. To no avail. He would just fly around to another spot inside the house.
So he slept inside. Before going to bed, around midnight, I went to the kitchen to drink my usual pre-sleep cool glass of water. He got up from behind a dish placed on the wall, looked at me and me at him. I drank my glass of water, with both looking at each other. I didn't say a word, he didn't make a sound. We just kept staring one another. I turned off the light, and went to bed.
Next morning, I opened just the kitchen door, and he went straight out. As in, right away.
Strange, eh ?
I'm there, in that property, for close to eleven years now.
This had never happened.
